November 24, 2010 – Pro Promotions, the Monument, CO based event production company responsible for such events as the annual Salute to American Veterans Rally, Territory Days, the Tejon Street Bikefest, the annual High Country Toy Run, and others, received an award for outstanding military support.

“On behalf of USNORTHCOM, we want to recognize the Wear’s and their tireless support of our men and women in uniform here in Colorado Springs. It has impacted those that have served this nation in wars past to the children of those currently serving in combat.” Thompson added, “Their efforts have truly unified this community to rally behind those who defend our freedom.”

Also in attendance were NORTHCOM Deputy Chief of Staff Colonel Frank Simonds (USMC), SGT MAJ Richard Joyce (USA), MSGT David Griego (USA), Master Corporal Craig Adamson and Corporal Shannon Vickery of the Canadian Armed Forces, TSGT Cory Benedicto (USAF), and SFC Tamica Horne (USA).

In addition to a custom certificate of appreciation, the Wear’s each received a personal challenge coin from MG Thompson.

“Pam and I are extremely honored and humbled to receive this recognition,” said Pro Promotions President Jim Wear. “We are fortunate to be in a position to execute some events and activities which, for us and others, are just the right things to do and make sense. This is our way to do our duty, and reciprocate to those who have made our lifestyle possible and keep our country safe and free.” Wear added, “We have a whole team of dedicated patriots who work diligently on these events. Without them, nothing would be possible.”

The Salute to American Veterans Rally has been held annually for nearly two decades and has become the largest event of its kind in the Western US honoring United States Veterans and the Military.

The annual High Country Toy Run, now in it’s 23rd year collects thousands of toys for distribution to local kids at Christmas and coordinates efforts with the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots and Santa’s Workshop at Fort Carson.
