2013 Salute To American Veterans Rally Pays It Forward

The Annual Veterans Rally in Cripple Creek has never been designed to be, or billed as a “Fundraiser” of any kind.
The event is put on Free of charge for all Veterans and with few exceptions, all attendees can enjoy all the activities at no cost.

Each year, the Rally Committee does designate a few beneficiaries whenever possible.
In 2013, several local Veterans were financially assisted thru the Rally and it’s leadership.

Pictured above is Rally Committee Chairman and US Army Veteran Stu Sacks, presenting a check for $1,000.00 to Staff Sargent Glen Burningham of the 10th Special Forces Group & his wife Stephanie. Their 18 month old daughter has a rare spinal disorder that will render her bed ridden for life. The Family will use the money toward a special handicap van to transport her to medical appointments or anywhere outside the home.

“ This is a no-brainer” said Sacks. “How can you look at this beautiful Family and not want to help. It’s a small contribution to a Man who has done a LOT in honor of our Nation – and his Family – who also serve each and every day.”

Jim Wear, Founder and organizer of the annual event had this to say: “We do this every year. There are a LOT of Vets in need in we try and help as many as we can. We don’t make a big deal out of it and it’s not really the “Mission” of the Rally to raise money ……. But we do what we can – when we can.” Wear added “It’s only right.”

The 2014 SALUTE TO AMERICAN VETERANS RALLY” will take place in August.
